What makes someone a hero? Is it the mask
and cape, super-strength and ability to fly? Or is a hero defined by the
qualities they embody? After all, “A true hero isn’t measured by the size of
his strength, but by the strength of his heart,” (Lange 2). These parables are
designed to teach viewers that true hero is demarcated by what is within, such
as perseverance, competence, and courage. Moreover, if anyone who acts upon
heroic qualities can be a hero, then heroes can be found everywhere: from
families, to communities, to even around the world. Meaning, heroes can be
found where ever an individual is motivated to induce or rouse the qualities
they epitomize; the qualities that depict a hero.
